You make a good point and I agree with it. As long as the McRib is eaten in moderation (maybe why they only bring it out once a year!?) those chemicals are an important and vital ingredient to the gripping taste sensation. I only mentioned the chemicals as a nod to full disclosure as to what might be causing his mouth watering ... if not the desire for another McRib!
