I hated those mincers before Tony said anything. This is what I use to prepare garlic. Slice it thin enough and it liquefies in the pan.

Bed, Bath and Beyond sell this garlic slicer for $13.50 but I think that's kind of pricey. What might be a good alternative for slicing garlic? I need it thin enough so that it liquefies in the pan with a little oil.
