lol
No, that's a French thing.
Although, it seems right for China, as well.
I don't know. People use what they can get their hands on at the time.
I don't think it's a thing in France, anymore.

for the decadent indulgence of that crazy lady.

p.s. I like your version of the omelette. Those are difficult for me to pull off -- but I still try and usually mess something up along the way.

Sorry.
I didn't clarify that (no pun intended).
I use brewed and add spices / herbs for a marinade. Cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, rosemary, etc... all work well for chicken dishes.

Beef, I will use onion, garlic pepper, or whatever is appropriate for the dish. Stroganoff is going to call for something different than a Bolognese. But using coffee is kind of a nice addition. Also when it's all cooked down, the coffee flavor isn't that strong.

An example might be something like this:
Shallot (or any kind of onion), garlic, coffee, vinegar, mustard, brown sugar, oil, about 1 tsp. or pinch of black pepper in a bowl and soak something like steaks in that for a few hours or about a day.
Grill.
???
Profit.

Haven't tried it on fish, yet.
I imagine something like swordfish or shark might work well with cilantro and a bit more acid like lime or lemon. I know some folks like to drink their coffee with lemon juice but I never got into that.

I don't use the grounds afterward, except for composting. And I've heard mixed opinions about that with nitrogen content in the soil. I'm no chemist so don't know if it's good or bad...

Scrapple was the only thing that grossed me out, to be honest.

No, she broke up with me because I drank too much. But really I think she just wanted to meet a bunch of other people without any clothes on... and used my drinking as an excuse; she had checked out of our relationship years before we actually broke up.

We're still on speaking terms and she got married but we're kind of distant now. However, she had two different kinds of cancer, one thyroid and one uterine and that's when I learned to become a competent / decent cook.

But thanks for asking...

If OP is serious, lots of fresh veggies and fruits and less processed foods.

just kidding...

Which one?
Genuinely curious.
I like Round Table's (I'm in California) and any kind of Neapolitan restaurant. But I really do prefer to make my own. Got obsessed with the stone and paddle and flour type and toppings and I haven't given up on that obsession. Haven't done it on the BBQ grill yet but now that the weather is getting colder I can fire up the oven and warm up the house with that awesome comfy smell.

Ha ha ha! I can't believe I'm still in this thread and that it's still even going...

Yeah, I'm totally with you. I HATE cleaning up when I'm drunk (or anytime, really) so I always choose that route. Prepping doesn't bother me 'cuz you get to be creative but cleaning dishes is the pits because drunk time is supposed to be fun time.

But, yeah... Fried chicken requires too much clean-up. And I'm with you on the safety factor: (meh).

Okay, you got me salivating now. Time for my dinner... Grilled black angus steak and a green salad with all the fixin's. Maybe some sourdough loaf and turn it all into a sandwich.
