Dont season it until the end besides salt

Also it needs to be hot but not above the smoke point of the fat

Pan seared is the best option I feel for ribeye steak
Broil is close second
Grill is a 3rd but grilling is the best for big boned steaked like T bones

But yea pan seared is the best simple method to cook a steak

W/e you do salt them heavy and let them sit an hour or so. And get a nice maillard reaction on them when cooking(browning)

Ribeye 1.75 inch thick ASK YOUR BUTCHER
Salt 45mins before cooking salt heavy
Pepper just before cooking optional onion powder and garlic powder
Grill or Broil or pan fry depends on what you have all three can be the best steak you ever had. No cast iron no pan fry
I suggest either broil or grill
Grill over hot coals 4-5 mins per size flipping once maybe twice if you are unsure. Temp should be 127f or so on the grill as you pull it. I will cook a bit more to a nice medium or medium rare.

Let the meat rest 5mins

Broil you set oven to broil and set rack close the coils. Cook it hot and fast like grilling. Aware it will smoke a bitch up.

Mashed taters always add sour cream
Assparaguts pan cook with a bit of butter and salt thats it cook until nutty tasting/browned lightly

For gravy I suggest a mushroom an onion
