I'm From St. Louis. We eat both kinds of barbecue- smoked meat and 'Barbecue': grilled meat cooked with sauce applied During cooking.
As for Pizza, the thin 'Imo's style' with provel cheese, is good. We also enjoy Chicago style deep dish pizza, and many varieties in between.
Burgers: Steak n Shake makes steakburgers (and owns that trademark). If you come to StL, be sure to have one.
Ice Cream: Ted Drewes frozen custard is head n shoulders better than the rest.
Btw, if you want to insult someone, call them a stupid hoosier. It's unrelated to Indiana, it roughly translates into 'ignorant redneck'.
