>I'm not likely to go out of my way to pick it up
I don't care very much about making it extremely accessible to poorfags and cooklets because that was the problem with the last OP; he tried to pander to everyone, offend no one, and it fell apart with no structure.

If you're not really invested in the competition, don't participate. I'd rather intrigue the small handful of people who would care to go the extra mile to really compete with each other and to put on a show.

Late Chef Charlie Trotter says that the only way to produce excellence is to set a near-unattainable standard. Truly challenging work is the most rewarding. I would personally be too bored to bother doing a bunch of chicken and potato dishes just so some casuals can play along with what's already in the pantry.
Sorry.

Use more romantic, less boring themes which keep in mind seasonal ingredients and which present an actual challenge. Once we did savory summer berries - seasonal fresh summer berries but presented in an entree/salad or other savory dish.
A couple other ideas off the top of my head:
>Seafood for breakfast
>Mushroom sauces
>Fusion tacos (or fusion pasta, sushi, burger, etc)
>Herbal liqueur
>Meat in dessert
>Seeds
>All raw
>Vegan or Vegetarian
>Baked apples
>"Shaken up"/reinvented versions of normal dishes like "shaken up eggs on toast"
>Food of the 1400s (or any era)
Just some ideas. Don't do a boring "corn" or "bread" theme where there's no direction or real challenge presented.

This looks like a burger I made somewhat recently.
Pic related. Harissa paste burger and harissa aioli on a telera roll with raw red onion, raw red pepper, and homemade mint pickles.

I like to make fancy burgers.
Most recently I mixed harissa paste with ground beef, grilled as patties, then mixed more harissa paste with mayo and lemon to make aioli.

Served burger, aioli, raw red pepper rings and raw red onion rings, and homemade mint pickles on a telera roll. 10/10 burger

I recently made this harissa burger at home.
Ground beef mixed with salt and harissa paste for the patty. Raw red pepper and red onion, harissa aioli (1 part harissa to 2 parts mayo with some lemon juice added), and homemade mint pickles on a fresh telera roll.

I love coming up with interesting burger combinations.
