Does anyone use a big pan on a smaller stovetop?

I'm looking for a new frying pan and would really love a 28cm one, looking at a Schulte-Ufer (triple ply stainless with a copper core), which has a 22cm bottom. Problem is my shitty electric stove's biggest heating element is only 18cm, so a whole 4cm smaller than the pan.
How big of a deal is it really? Is it just going to heat so unevenly that you might as well just use a shitty teflon pan?
If anyone has experience with it I'd love some input
