> imperial is an objectively shit

Nonsense, it’s the most logical measurement system as it’s based on the USERS of that system and not arbitrary numbers.

A pint is a pint because its just the right size for an individual to consume liquid and a gallon is a gallon because its just the right size for an individual to transport liquid.

Meanwhile, a liter is based on the cubic centimeter which is in turn based on he meter, which is defined as the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792.458 of a second…

While the metric system allows one to easily divide by 10, average people rarely have to do that and furthermore, metrics is a completely arbitrary system that ignores the users.

Conventional measurements on the other hand, are directly related to the users, thus a gallon is just the right size for a human to transport liquid and a pint is just the right size for drinking liquids as both have been more or less standardized since cave man days.

Nonsense, it’s metrics that is the arbitrary system and more importantly, it has no relation to the users.

For example, a liter is defined as 1000 cubic centimeters, which is a derivative of the meter, which is defined as the length of the path travelled by light in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second. If that’s not fucking arbitrary, I dunno what is.

Meanwhile, the good old traditional gallon is based on the quantity of liquid an _average human_ can comfortably carry and pour and this has remained more or less constant throughout thousands of years of human history, with pottery jugs from ancient Mesopotamia being roughly one gallon in capacity.
