Here's a question:

I've lived in Dublin for a few years, I've poured Guiness for people in a bar before while temping for my barman friend. I've drank it many ways and poured it many ways, and while all the Irish I've met insist on the rout pour and letting it rest, I find the whole charade to be utter marketing bullshit.

The beer tastes the-fucking-same regardless of how you pour it.
And fuck, if you want to have a sip while it's "settling" go right ahead, it doesn't fucking matter.
