Brioche is based, it’s also a close cousin of Panettone.

It’s difficult and it requires a mixer for the dough, but if you want to try here’s a step by step recipe:

It’s that time of the year /ck/, this is the place to discuss pandoro and panettone for the incoming Christmas vacations, we post and shill our favourite brands, Chef Stefano Barbato’s recipes for both sweets and shitpost against peasants who don’t like the most comfy winter sweets ever made.

>Where I can buy them?

If you’re in the USA and Canada you can start from Eataly shop website where you can find a selection of these sweets, also lurk the thread to find other shops and links.

If you’re in Europe you can basically buy from every producer (keep in mind that you can already make preorders for top bakeries) but there are general shops with many brands to choose from like Corso101.com (multi language), again lurk the thread for further suggestions.

You can also buy from Amazon, but be aware of what you’re buying (imitations sold as real Italian products mostly).

>Which panettone/pandoro I should buy? There are a lot of them and different price tags.

Generally there are 3 categories: the cheap non artisanal product sold in general stores and supermarkets (ie. Bauducco panettone for the American market), the semi artisanal product which represents the mid tier and the most popular choice (these are the ones sold on Eataly and Corso101) and finally the full artisanal product made by bakeries, these are the most expensive ones and the most prestigious ones.

So far, one of the most loved and shilled Panettone here has been the Baladin Beer panettone. Check it out.
