I don't think so, our bodies are pretty good at regulating that kind of stuff. Also I wonder if people who say things like this don't really understand how pH works. The opposite of acidic isn't neutral, it's alkaline, and something that's alkaline can also burn you just like an acid.

You can be mostly healthy on a vegan diet, definitely better than the average person. You'll find some high level athletes who are vegans but the majority won't be. Pretty much every study says that vegans have less muscle mass since plant protein isn't utilized as well. Humans aren't herbivores. We're not really carnivores either though. Just balance your diet in whatever way feels best to you.
