It's true, though.

I was off booze for about 4 days with no problem and then went Christmas shopping with the family in a mall. Went to some store that was packed and had all kinds of horrible incense and junk toys and fat people (California) where I couldn't get out of the aisles.

Made it out of the store and the next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital after having a seizure. It was definitely from withdrawal. I lied to the doctors about my alcohol intake but I'm sure they saw right through me.

Don't underestimate the long-term massive alcohol use and then abrupt abstention; that shit's real.
