when processed foods were becoming the mainstay of the north american home in the 1950s people slowly began to teeter off of fresh foods in favor of fast and tasty junk food with little nutritional value. this coincided with the general easing of lifestyles most families were experiencing, its only since the ultra health conscious wave of the 1990s did processed food become evil.
