I used to depend on institutional meals when I was semi-homeless. There was one guy on staff that actually gave a shit. That guy made all the difference, man. Not just the food, but the little ray of hope that comes from seeing that at least one person actually cares. He helped me through my darkest hour. I miss that guy.
