Swede here. We never eat herring as an everyday meal, it's reserved for christmas and midsummer and only then as a starter (and mostly boomers/old people like it). I think most people eat more international/foreign food than traditional scandi food here.
We have huge taco aisles in our stores for a reason. Our traditional food is mostly pretty grim
