The method for killing octopuses humanely by biting is a precise bite between the eyes and the brain, and it's done on large octopuses. The live octopuses being eaten are small, and the method is by wrapping them up as best you can with your chopsticks and then cramming them in your mouth. There's nothing particularly humane about that.
