my stir fry is bland

>make brown rice with butter and salt

>fry meat (pork, chicken, or beef) and transfer out of pan
>fry chopped onions and garlic in drippings
>add red pepper and frozen peas, greenbeans and carrots (just easier, I always keep frozen ones around)
>let cook for a while
>add some soy sauce
>add meat back in
>add some chili flakes, salt & pepper
>add finished rice
>let simmer for a bit
>squeeze half a lime into it
>add fresh chopped cilantro

but it still tastes bland. how can i spice it up a bit?
