Lychee is good if not a bit expensive. Look for something called rambutan. They're slightly bigger, more gnarly looking, and at my place they come in giant bagfulls (when they're in season). They taste about the same. Rambutan is probably a little more earthy in comparison, but they're still very sweet and a giant warehouse bagfull of them costs about the same as two small bags of lychee.
