You can't program a squid though, my point is that comparing them to computers is apples and oranges because even the closest thing we have to a puzzle solving computer is really a program that is designed to write new programs it isn't thinking. The squid are thinking that's why when slightly altered the octopus still figure it out they don't run the same solution and modify like a computer would they recognize immediately it's changed and reinterpret the same way a kid or a dog would. I don't know if squid are the same desu but I wouldn't be surprised if they were
