One serving of ramen is like a day's worth of sodium but not even a forth of what you're going to eat that day. A forth if you're on some 1500 cal diet, but even so, that is 400 sodium intake. Most people don't dare go over 200 percent sodium intake. You'll be forcing your kidneys to keep too much water and the heart thus pressure washes them to death with too much pressure.

Back in the day humans lived near rivers, not oceans, and without unlimited mobility of technology that made salt literally magic white powder, hence superstitions revolving around it. You needed that precious sea powder from far away. They used it sparingly and it was literally like gold. You treated wounds, saved food with it, and cooked with it like a magic powder that's precious meaning only like a tiny little scoop a day for the whole family in the pot. That's how we evolved.

You literally die if you drink sea water you know, your kidneys freak out on you and dump out all of the water in your system. Playing with sodium plays with water retention, but there is a fine line. Slightly over and you won't piss it all out, it holds more water, thus creating tension. Hyper tension. People's tolerance probably varies hence the drama around this thing.

Most USA gets 200 percent for that reason but then again I just read a rumor that in 50 years half of them will have kidney disease and it got me thinking. Why half? Half die from smoking long term they say. Why did half die of the black plague? Some genes are better is why. Our infant mortality rates keep alive the weaker babies.

So, the question you have to ask yourself as you consume several times your recommended sodium intake daily is, do you feel lucky?
