They assumed that the vegan community would get behind them and support them more fully than they did. They wrongly believed they would pay more for a plate of cheap legumes and rice than a aged, premium steak.

Fact is, this is known human behavior towards strangers. You want to give them as little as possible and gain as much as possible, bringing in good feels and socialist behavior in to what is a easy to fault, hard to get right business is retarded in the extreme.

People will actively look for reasons to pay you less, their behaviors change, too long to get a refill, not enough sauce, not enough garnish, too spicey, not spicy enough, chair wobbled, table uneven, waiter was not smiling all the time, waiter was smiling all the time.

There are far to many variables for your average street restaurant.

There's an old wooden shack place called 529 BBQ, it's god the old feel and it's good if you get there early, open 10ish until 4ish. I think it's the best BBQ in Houston, there's a giant fucking rattlesnake skin on the wall.
