Made this tonight, basically what my grandmother ate during the great depression.

>Cheapest linguini you can find
>Large can of whole peeled tomatoes
>Half a clove of garlic
>Olive oil
>Basil (home grown)
>Red pepper

Make a sauce with oil, garlic, tomatoes, about half a can of water, a few basil leafs, red pepper, salt and pepper. Serge with pasta mixed in. Add cheese if you got it. Comes to about $5.00 total for all ingredients.
