Jew Yorker here. Jews who pretend to care about wine usually drink stuff like Yarden or Castel. It's still boiled nasty dreck, but the crazies who go to special "kosher pizzerias" in Midwood or "kosher dosa" in Curry Hill love the stuff.

99% of manischewitz is bought by flyover kikes who don't know any better and need something "Jewish" for the holidays, or whatever the current equivalent of hipsters is, pretending they're doing it for laughs as opposed to being broke.

You probably just don't live in an area where people take wine seriously. They make actual "good" kosher wine, mostly from Israel unfortunately. Pic related is very popular in my area. I personally avoid products made on stolen land, so I haven't tasted it, but to my understanding it has to be boiled before adding yeast, so it's still never going to be exceptional wine, although it's probably better than Manischewitz.

I believe there are a few kosher wineries operating upstate that make "good" wine but my curiosity hasn't been strong enough to look for it.
