as a Pole, I can say we have a few good dishes, but mostly shine in bread and cakes
our food is great for the winter though, very filling and warming
some of my favourites are:
>bigos (sauerkraut stew with meat or mushrooms)
>żurek (soured rye soup)
>barszcz (polish version of borscht, clear and served with meat / mushroom filled dumplings)
>pierogi (everyone likes these, since they can be filled with anything from wild game to fruit)
