How did you season it my lad? I forgot how I did it when I bought these. I know I threw out the seasoning packet though.

Tried this on a whim, followed the directions on the back exactly, had godly farts and leftovers for about 3 days. I've since started adding ham hocks as well

More kinds than I can even recognize. Mine all came out brown because I made a stock with smoked hocks and ham steak, but you can make some visually pleasing colorful dishes with this stuff

The included seasoning packet is trash though, throw that away

I genuinely don't understand the question.

I like to add a handful of picrel to my vegetable soup before I add the vegetables. Just enough to make the soup a little more interesting, but not so much it becomes bean soup.

Damn right I am

I bought a bag of pic related for some reason. I don't remember why, especially since they're more expensive than normal bags of beans. I threw the seasoning packet out, I made it myself.

I just sort of improvised, but the recipe was:
>2 medium onions
>3 carrots
>2 jalapeños
>3 stalks celery
>1/2 a bell pepper I needed to use up
>that 20 oz bag of 15 beans
>3 ham hocks
>1 tsp thyme
>2 bay leaves
>black pepper

Instructions
Soak beans overnight
Dice your onions, carrots, celery, bell pepper, and jalapeño and then saute them
dump your beans, ham hocks, and sauted mix into a pot and cover with water
bring to boil for 10 minutes to kill the toxins in the kidney beans and then simmer (alternatively you can boil the beans then add the rest of the stuff)
add enough water to cover the ham hocks

If you have not cooked with ham hocks before, BE CAREFUL! They are salty and depending on how salty yours are you could end up with an overly salty soup. You can soak ham hocks overnight to help get some of the salt out or you can use one ham hock and see how it comes out.

I'll be using a pack of 15 beans that I found in my basement. I don't entirely understand mixing 15 different types of beans together, but for some reason I bought it and need to use it. The beans are soaking now. The seasoning packet went straight to the trash because I'll be seasoning this sloppa myself.
