The Food Court is THE biggest loss leader. The food court normally loses money just on the food cost itself. That does not count the labor of employees and other overhead. In fact, if the food court were to make money then that puts up a red flag at corporate. We are told that the money charged to customers for the membership fees, all of it, is what is used to compensated for the losses. So the membership fees are ONLY used for the food court.
