I used to live with a needy codependent couple where the girl bought wholesale boxes of candy on amazon for the guy. You could tell she was trying to get him fat so other girls wouldn't look at him because she was ugly and felt threatened even though he was no prize himself.

Anyway, they had a stack of crates full of willy wonka shit in the living room and he would just sit there on the sofa picking nerds out of his neckbeard, watching simpsons. That's what I'm picturing when I picture op.

I was at the grocery store today and I found a bottle called, if I recall correctly, "Palate Destroyer IPA". Yeah. Needless to say, it was from San Diego. I gather beer culture attracts a younger crowd, the type who attach a great deal of importance to whether some beer has "the most" of this or that.

Actually whisky people can be pretty bad too, the "only drink lafroog" types.

Occasionally you will meet someone who drinks wine who "only drink big cabs and zinfandels" but these types at least have the decency to qualify their preferences with a humble "I don't know too much about wine". But the hop heads will usually take the opposite tack - anything with any semblance of balance is dismissed, with some hostility, as entry level piss water consumed by clueless plebs who don't care about beer. Any Real Beer Drinker will suppress his grimace while choking down whatever record breaking childish garbage The Bros approved of this month.
