It tastes pretty good. Om nom nom. It's a pretty old sweet, dating back in Naples almost 4000 years. Many of our sweets date back to ancient times, such as struffoli (dating back 2300 years) and snake gourd slices candied with lemon and mint (pic related; dates back about 1900 years).

Naples, Italy.
Old word pumpkin (yes: there are squashes native to the old world, goddammit) candied with Neapolitan lime (a sweet variety of bergamot with lemon/lime overtones) and mint.
Usually, it's made of the green old world pumpkin, but can also be made of the red old world pumpkin as well.
