/ck/, I was raised to be an incredibly picky eater. My father won't eat a single thing I cook, and instead elects to leave and go get fast food when I make dinner. I've overcome most of the food-hates I had when I was younger (tomatoes, avocado, mushrooms), but there are two things I cannot like.
One, is spicy food-I've tried to 'work my way up', but even Taco Bell quesadillas are just too spicy for me. A serrano pepper blended into sauce for enchiladas makes me cry. I can handle curry much better, but as a rule I cannot eat spicy food.
Second, and most importantly, are beans. I hate the fuckers and I have for my entire life, but they seem too common to go on hating. I've had pinto, cannelini, refried, black, ranch style...all with a disgusting chalk texture and a horrific taste.
Basically I'm asking HOW do you make yourself like something? Using the same technique that I did to make myself like, say, avocados just isn't working this time. Any help would be appreciated!
