In Northwest Indiana we have this place, Miner Dunn. It used to be a chain but now there is just the one in Highland. It's not technically fast-food, because it's a sit-down diner type of place (think Denny's, but a million times better). But its menu is mostly burgers and fries, and the prices aren't much more than your average fast-food burger chain, so I think it qualifies.

There is nothing fancy, gimmicky, or over-the-top about it. It's just damned good burgers, hand-cut fries, homemade vegetable soup and god-tier chili made from scratch each day, homemade pies .... and orange sherbet for some goddamned reason.

Get the cheese supreme on rye or sourdough if you're ever there.
