As a cook, it is a huge deal in my restaurant. Iv literally had the head chef yell at me(like, raised angry voice) because i plated something with the entrée resting on the slope of the plate(pic related, in that red area).
Apparently anything touching that edge is a huge no-no... I nudged it a fraction of an inch towards the centre and rolled my eyes at him, and he almost had a breakdown. Some "chefs" are complete assholes.
