Been comparing these two gaiwans in terms of pouring.

The one on the right pours significantly better than the one on the left. This is due to 2 main reasons.

First, the gaiwan on the right has a steeper curve to it, which gives better velocity of water to pour out.

The left gaiwan has a more traditional shape, where there are more curves that interrupt the flow of water. The left gaiwan is also about twice as thick, causing the water to pour around the lip and down the sides causing a mess.

Just wanted to share this with you guys in case you plan on buying a gaiwan soon. The shape makes a HUGE difference when pouring.
