The American one is specifically a spreadable version with oil added meant to be creamy and spreadable at fridge temp so you don't have to leave the butter out or let it warm up.

The one in that picture is the canola oil version, there is also an olive oil version, and a no-oil version.

As usual this is just eurocope manifested as struggling to understand what actual variety is.
