don't make any major purchases like a whole new stove, but getting an induction and maybe portable electric and/or gas cooktop wouldn't be a turrible idea.

sadly the only way to stop all this nonsense is to intervene and end the war.

I have an OP pic and an induction cooktop and I'm going to have to say induction is much better. for lots of reasons.

i love my butane stove for camping trips or if i need to cook something stinky or smoky outside, but otherwise no, the performance is way inferior to induction.

my only advice with induction is that although a 2000W induction cooktop will get extremely hot extremely fast, it's better to heat your pans and skillets somewhat slowly so it doesn't have hot and cold spots. you put that on 2000W with cast iron and it'll get so hot the seasoning will vaporize from some spots while other spots are cold. heat for a couple mins on medium to get the whole thing warm fist
