Whenever I read post like this, two scenarios spring to mind. Either this opinion springs from the mind of someone who grew up with alcoholic parents, or who has someone struggling with addiction close to them when they were young. They are unable to objectively perceive what alcohol is supposed to bring to a healthy social gathering, with, or without food. In their mind alcohol just equals bad. Probably for the best because alcoholism is passed on with genes.
The other scenario is simply the opinion of an obese muslim. Have you seen what they drink with their meals? It's soda, soda, soda. Even the ELDERLY muslims drink soda, like a child. It is truly embarrassing. They all walk around with this indian-like sugar gut physique in my country, into which they immigrated.
