Žižek was a fun read ~15 years ago, mostly for how he simplifies things and makes fun cultural references, but he's kind of a hack at this point (just imagine sitting through a 6 hour amphetamine fueled Žižek rant you can barely understand - because of his accent). He styles himself as the post-Lacanian Adorno, and frequently takes shots at Adorno, but he's nowhere near in the same league.
