She's smart, just like PB it goes rancid slower. Since I live alone, I keep my bread in the fridge to keep it longer.

Since I live alone and I hate to freeze/thaw meat I do broth with cheap chicken legs/thights/drumsticks.

It give me meat for a couple of days, and broth to make rice or soup with.

Yesterday I bought about 3-4 legs of chicken.
I put them in a pot with water and boiled them for like 20 minutes, removing the scum.

Then I added celery, carrot, onion, thyme and 2-3 coriander balls.

I let it simmer for 45 minutes.

Then I removed the chicken, saved the meat and put back the bones, cartilages and skin back in the pot and let it simmer for 2.5 hours, removing the scum every 45 minutes.

Filtered the broth and put it in the freezer in tupperwares.

The same way my french grandmother makes it:
-With a fork crush some garlic in the bottom of a salad bowl (the bigger the better, salad will be easier to toss)
- add some dijon mustard, salt and fg pepper
-add 1 part of vinegar ( wine or cider or apple)
- mix the ingredients together
-add 3 parts of EVOO
-mix and form an emulsion

you have a vinaigrette

add your salad, eggs, tuna green beans, tomatoes

toss and enjoy

Food isn't like fashion. You wan't to make good food? It requires time and attention, not money. You can make a king meal from Dollar store groceries if you know your way with spices and flavours.
