sounds like me, I started working in the kitchen when I was young. granted, I was not much for getting my hands dirty at the time, but I was inventive and eager to prove my efficiency, I worked my way up to main dish washer and handled mexican independance day a man down, never really doing enough to keep the place clean but not falling behind.

young people can be hard workers, I'd love to meet this person, but I'd probably just creep on her. The main problem I have as someone with good work ethic is that people who shirk food safety at every turn irritate the shit out of me.
