Are you drinking ultra light-light roasts like Apollon's Gold or Moodtrap? Or are you drinking old bags of peet's you buy at the grocery store. Two very different scenarios where different burrs will shine. One of the biggest issues with tards like you throwing money at a grinder without understanding it is big flat burrs will make shitty beans taste worse. You're exposing defects that would be masked in a blendy little conical like a Baratza Encore.

>want to get something decent from the beginning
That involves doing your homework and figuring out what exactly you want. I'm trying to keep you from wasting your money, or rather wasting your money in a productive way. Stop acting like a twat. It took me cancelling a $1600 preorder and spending another grand on top of that to get something I've been happy with. 8 months of extra research. The grinder I cancelled is now ~2x your budget.

Wdt tool, dosing ring. I'd probably wait on a basket until you understand more. Again depends on what coffees you're drinking. If you're after milk drinks or blendy espresso yeah VST or Big Bang would be a good choice. You want a little more fruit, vst+bottom papers. You want even more fruit, Pullman 876 or MHW3 Dex. Then you start getting into the more "modern" $$$ baskets like weber uni/sworks/wafo.
