Just made some homemade lemon drops. First time doing sugar work, they turned out great. Very fast and easy, relatively speaking. Only water, sugar, citric acid, lemon extract, cream of tartar, and, optionally, yellow dye. Mix sugar, water, and cream of tartar, heat to 300F, immediately pour out onto parchment paper lined baking sheet, add citric acid and yellow dye, mix, let cool, stretch into a rope, cut to size, and toss in powdered sugar.

Next time I'm going to try to fold a bunch of air into it to make it crunchy and dissolve faster in your mouth. Considering trying to use my mixers's dough hook, or just folding by hand.

I just made chocolate chip cookies and lemon drops (at 2am). This was my first time ever doing sugar work, and I'm pleased that it turned out perfectly.

Next time I want to try to incorporate a bunch of air so that they're crunchy too.
