I don't eat deli meat out of principle. Until I own a smoker and a meat slicer, I will avoid it. It's too expensive for what you get. The best price I can find is "Oven Roasted Turkey Breast" for $4.48/lb. No thanks.

Luckily there are some alternatives. Chicken salad and egg salad, for instance. Whole chickens are $0.88/lb right now.

But the greatest sandwich is the Po' Boy. It's the original fried chicken sandwich.

Fresh catfish is currently on sale for $1.99/lb. That's more like it. I don't have prices for shrimp, oysters, and crawfish but they're probably about that amount right now.

Fry up a combination of those ingredients and slather on some mayonnaise onto some french bread and add lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Woooo-eeeee. I garon'tee.
