careful selection of fruit, pruning back other fruits to increase sugar content, letting it fall naturally at peak ripeness, etc makes the fruit taste a whole lot better.

those Asian fruit gift boxes are almost always higher quality than the regular swill, because Asians don't shove food down their gullets like cattle. Best part is that they're usually almost the same price as the regular slop too, just that you have to make a bulk investment by buying a pack of 15 or so.
