Us Americans eat this, I fully understand you. Yes, there is a certain RPG element of "deenz" that is appealing, but in actual practice? To us civilized people, it ultimately is disgusting. You can train yourself to enjoy it certainly, but when you've been eating food like this that is made to be pleasing and not barbaric, it is odd and repugnant at first.

American cuisine, Mid Eat cuisine, Hispanic cuisine, many Eueropean cuisines, and pretty much all cuisines are very similar to one another with some being more simpish than others, the most being Mexican. However, you'll find Asian cuisines seem to have autism and often makes little sense outside of a needlessly complex system of jolk tradition and martial arts techniques.

I've had some good burgers in my time, I love a good melted swiss cheese, roasted mushrooms and caramelised onions on a burger, that is hot stuff

A burger with grilled onions and/or mushrooms is the only thing "swiss cheese" is good on
