Hey /ck/, amateur homebrewer here.

Tried making mead with a vertical recipe (celestial mead). Followed the instructions, but the end ingredient smelled off, almost vinegary. I took a tiny, tiny sip (like 2 teaspoons tops), and it tasted lightly of mead with a bitter aftertaste. Then I got a brief headache which started at the back of my head and moved forward, as though a steamroller was going over my brain.

I've been drinking loads of water and have dumped the mead. What happened to my booze, and do I need to go to the hospital?
