My first cup of coffee was pretty sour and undrinkable Ethiopian using a flair/C40 I bought second hand at the beginning of our full lockdown, and after 5 months, Im consistently pulling great shots of sweet Harars, Kenyans and columbians and my palette is getting better at detecting subtle notes in different coffee beans. But Ive got a problem now. My family keeps pestering me to make them coffee every few days, because the good coffee shops are closed and apparently mines better, but I cant be bothered anymore, and I dont want them to touch my equipment. I only got a Flair and a C40 because I thought I was only going to make coffee for myself and maybe a friend, and it was cheap but good quality gear that can perform as great as the more expensive machines once youve mastered it. But Ive underestimated how my family would react to my hobby. If I knew, I would have gotten a setup far more better at making consecutives shots without my arm breaking. But I dont think theres semi automatic machines that has flow control like the Flair or Robot under 1000 AUD.
