We have something similar on germany, called "poor knights" (Arme Ritter). Stale bread soaked in spiced beaten eggs and fried. I usually add some cheese and salami onto them, makes them delicious, but jam is also really nice if you only spice it with salt, cinnamon and similar spices. Looking for a image I also found out that many people do bread them first, so it's basically the same thing. Are you from Czechia or some other "affiliated" with german speakers country?
