I cooked my very first turkey.

I did a 12lb turkey at 325 for 3 1/2 hours. I put a piece of foil over the breast for the first 2 hours. After that, I pulled it out, removed the foil and basted the turkey. I basted one more time after that.

Made herb butter with some seasonings and parsley, rubbed it under the skin and all over the turkey. I stuffed the rest of the parsley inside of the turkey. I placed the turkey on a bed of carrots, onions, garlic and chicken stock.

I used the pan drippings plus my giblet broth to make some turkey gravy (which turned out delicious).

All in all, it was a great experience seeing as I've never cooked a turkey. It was VERY moist, even the breast and had great flavor.

I will definitely do this again next year.

I was kind of in a rush, cooking, hints the shitty pic. I should have taken a picture of it on the platter, not in the roasting pan.
