I inhaled some extra hot horseradish once. Made it to the windpipe.

Hey /ck/, got a quick question for you. While I feel like I'm an adequately skilled cook, I have no real experience with staging multiple courses within a meal. Normally I just do a main entree with sides, but it feels less impressive, and this is a birthday meal. Yes, its Vegan unfortunately, but its not about me.

The plan so far involves 3 separate dishes that compliment each other, but with varying prep times. What do? if it helps, i'll briefly outline the meal.

Fried sweet potato cakes with a cream/garlic dip
Citrus/jalapeno carrots/peppers
Chickpea curry with spinach
Pinapple with chile

I think the ingredients will compliment each other. I know about the rules for the order of dishes and such, but is it really important, or can I save myself the trouble and just serve everything but the desert together? MFW thinking about getting everything out on time...
