>people itt unironically think medieval peasants were perpetual slaves that lived vege meal to vege meal for fear of death

Lol?
meat was plentiful during the harvest months and into winter, when the elderly cows and chickens were slaughtered. . The food that the lords took as tax wasn't just stockpiled and jacked off to, citizens of towns and cities had no land and ate medieval fast food every single day, which included a ton of meat. Peasants only got to taste game meat if they poached it, since prized animals like deer belonged to the land owner.

Pork was fucking EVERYWHERE, there were stray pigs all over the place, even the poorest peasants could afford to raise pigs since they eat garbage, and ham and bacon last well without refridgeration. It was also the most popular meat at the time even with royalty, only challenged by mutton.

Yeast literally lives on your body btw, you can make starter for leavened bread just by leaving wet flour in a cup for a few days. It's wheat bread that was only eaten by nobility, peasants had to eat shit like oat and rye bread.

Alright so I used full salt beef broth instead of no salt by accident in my beef stew and it's quite a bit too salty. I'm serving with mash so that should help but it's still too salty. Any way to salvage this?

Help me /ck/, I used around $15 of ingredients to make some beef stew and it's bitter as fuck. I suspect it's the celery. Is there any way to salvage this?
