I live with my girlfriend and we always cook and eat together, and we eat like animals

yesterday, for the first time i came to my gf's parents house and their maid cooked like this teeny weeny lamb meat with bones on it (she's from a rather rich family i didn't even know that)

there were like 3 different knives and forks but i didn't care and just ate randomly BUT then her parents fucking roasted me and literally called me a plebeian because i had no table manners

seriously, is choosing different forks and knives even important in eating? what's the point of table manners? i've never felt so shitty in my life before
